Peterborough College students recognised at Muslim Council of Peterborough's 10th Annual Education Awards
Eight students from Peterborough College have been recognised for their achievements at the Muslim Council of Peterborough’s 10th Annual Education Awards, joining more than 100 young people celebrated for their progress, attainment and contributions to education across the city.
Held on Wednesday 7 October 2026 at Jack Hunt Academy, the milestone event brought together more than 300 guests, including students, families, educators and community leaders, to celebrate the achievements of 112 young people from Peterborough’s local institutions.
Organised by the Muslim Council of Peterborough (MCP), the annual awards recognise the dedication, perseverance and accomplishments of young people, while highlighting the important role that education plays in raising aspirations and creating opportunities across the community.
Among those recognised were eight Peterborough College students:
Abdi Mohamut, Evie Bell, Brandon Rainsford, Oliver Cooper, Hakan Ismail, Hollie Markillie, Evie-Mae Savage, Leoni McDougall.
The awards celebrated their individual achievements alongside those of young people from educational institutions across Peterborough.
The ceremony also welcomed civic and education leaders, including Councillor Dr Shabina Asad Qayyum, Leader of Peterborough City Council, as well as representatives from local schools, colleges and community organisations.
Now celebrating its tenth annual awards ceremony, the Muslim Council of Peterborough continues to bring communities together through education, recognising achievement and encouraging young people to pursue their ambitions.
