English and maths are central to work and life; success in these subjects is linked to better life chances and greater achievement. It is government policy to enable as many young people as possible to improve their literacy and numeracy with the aim of gaining a GCSE grade 4/C or above in maths and English.

Looking to improve your English and/or maths skills?

Achieving a good level of English and maths is important and it is clear from discussions with employers that GCSE is a qualification they trust and many use it to select employees. Functional skills are also emerging as qualifications that are valued by employers, learners and the education and training sector.

For those studying English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) our ESOL specialists will provide you with the necessary communication skills to help you live in the UK or to study other courses and find employment in the future.

We currently offer FREE ONLINE Functional Skills English and Maths courses for those aged 19+ who are looking to improve their English and/or maths skills.
