Peterborough College’s RAF Air and Defence College provides employer-led, career focused education and technical training for 16 to 19 year olds. Our employer supporters will work closely with us to provide this unique and innovative model, which is designed to create secure career paths in the RAF, Aerospace and Catering Industries.

T Levels are new qualifications that focus on providing real-world skills for specific careers. They are equivalent to 3 A Levels and combine classroom learning with industry placements. T Levels are perfect for those who know their career path and want a head start.

Higher Education courses offer in-depth academic study. These courses are for those aiming for advanced roles in their field.

Professional Qualifications are tailored for adults looking to advance or change their career. These part-time courses equip you with industry-relevant skills and are often recognised by employers.

Distance Learning courses offer the flexibility to study from anywhere, on your own schedule. Ideal for those with work or family commitments, these courses allow you to balance life and learning.

These courses are currently fully funded.

Learner Engagement is designed to re-engage young people who have historically struggled with mainstream education for a variety of reasons, but are open to exploring an alternative path.

We have three pathways available to young people aged 14-16 to study with us:

• Elective Home Educated students (EHE)
• Alternative School Provision (ASP)
• Day Release, Skills Pathway

Peterborough College’s English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Department offers an array of courses designed for non-native English speakers.

From basic to advanced levels, students gain a thorough understanding of English language usage, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

Expert faculty and cutting-edge resources aid in achieving language proficiency.

This department prepares students for diverse settings, ranging from social interaction to professional environments, empowering them with the language skills to thrive in English-speaking contexts.

It is government policy to enable as many young people as possible to improve their literacy and numeracy with the aim of gaining a GCSE grade 4/C or above in maths and English.

We currently offer FREE ONLINE Functional Skills English and Maths courses for those aged 19+ who are looking to improve their English and/or maths skills.
