Peterborough College's "Construct Your Future" Event Highlights Strong Employer Links and Green Skills Focus
Peterborough College hosted the highly successful “Construct Your Future” event at its new Centre for Green Technology.
The event, in collaboration with Stamford College and supported by SLGTA and CITB, provided construction students with invaluable hands-on experience and insights into the latest construction technologies.
A key feature of the event was the strong presence of numerous employer partners, including Allison Homes, The National Grid, ROLEC, Lindum, Worcester Bosch, EML, Vistry Group, and Warmflow. These partnerships are vital in bridging the gap between education and industry demands, ensuring our students develop the skills needed to thrive in the modern construction landscape.
The event emphasised the critical role employers play in helping us to shape future workforces, and how together, we are equipping students with the skills required for a sustainable future.
“Construct Your Future” showcased the College’s commitment to integrating the Government’s Green Skills Agenda into its curriculum. Emma Hill, Group Head of Construction said,
‘Today marks a significant event in construction across Inspire Education Group. We have 43 students engaging activities that are directly related to construction industries. some of the subjects will be their specialism and others will introduce them into a wider career opportunity within the sector. The suns shining there’s 31 activities lots of employer engagement so absolutely delighted to host this event today.’
