Peterborough College Brings Community Together at Successful Annual Welcome Fair

Peterborough College welcomed hundreds of new and returning students to its Park Crescent campus this week for its annual Welcome Fair.

The main focus of the two-day welcome fair was student wellbeing, safety and community integration, making sure every learner within Peterborough College knows exactly where to turn for guidance, both inside the college and across the city. 

A variety of local organisations took over the Enterprise Lounge to share resources and highlight local opportunities. Health and mental wellbeing organisations, including iCash, Everyone Health, Healthwatch, Peterborough MHST, Dhiverse, CGL, Peterborough Samaritans, Centre 33, The Kite Trust, Nacro, and Making Space, offered confidential advice on personal safety, health, and carer support. Representatives from the Peterborough United Foundation Youth Employment Hub, GLADCA, Lloyds Bank, and Cambridgeshire Police provided career, financial, and safety guidance. Groups like Peterborough Lions FC, Boxing Futures, Lifestyle Fitness, Dijibo Art / RB7 Art Centre, and SWISH connected learners with local sports, fitness, and creative arts projects.  

Internal campus teams ran interactive stalls to help new arrivals settle seamlessly into college life. The College Library, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) team, and Wellbeing Services detailed academic and personal support systems. Meanwhile, the Student Union and Student Governor team helped learners get involved in student representation, all supported by the College Marketing crew and live music from student DJs performing alongside Nick Slater. 

With these essential services and community connections now established, Peterborough College looks forward to supporting all new and returning students as they begin their studies.
