A world of creativity
Our art and design courses will encourage you to develop core skills such as drawing, visual research, technical skills, applying the creative process, visual language and experimenting with media, materials and techniques. In addition you will have the opportunity to study your chosen specialism in more detail, whether it’s graphic design, fine art, drawing, fashion/textiles or 3D design.
Building a fantastic future
Whether you hope to start work after college or go on to university, the College has an art and design course to suit you and help you explore the full range of approaches to art and design. Weekly lectures challenge and inform you about contemporary and historical issues and help you to put your own practical work within a broad cultural context. Throughout your study you will receive specialist advice and tutor support on portfolio presentation and preparation for university and job interviews.
Experimental and industry related project briefs
You will be introduced to a whole range of facilities in a studio based working environment including a drawing and painting studio, printmaking studio, 3D and sculpture studio, Apple Mac suites, photographic dark room and studio and fashion and textiles studio.
You will be able to produce an excellent creative portfolio of original and innovative work required for either university, industry interviews or an Apprenticeship. You will be able to showcase your talent at the end of year Art & Design exhibition and at other festivals and exhibitions throughout the year.
