Industry Placement
What is an industry placement?Â
Industry Placements are a longer form of placement in a working environment directly relevant to your course. You will have the opportunity to transfer the skills you learn in the classroom directly into a real working environment, whilst gaining high-quality experience in your chosen industry.
Industry placements are 315 hours in length and are to be completed over the two years of the qualification, (315 hours works out at around 45 days, depending on day length). Employability skills are built into the T Level, so students will have an idea of what employers are looking for and how to conduct themselves in the workplace.
Industry Placements Structure
As part of the industry placement, students will have set objectives to work towards over the duration of the placement.
At the time of arranging the placement, tasks will be established but not limited, so placement objectives can be met and there is further opportunity for students to develop within a role. These objectives add structure to the placement and ensure the students have opportunities to develop their technical skills in line with their course.
