Build essential numeracy, problem-solving, and analytical skills with Inspire Education Group’s maths courses. From Functional Skills to GCSE, our flexible study options support your goals. Gain confidence, boost career prospects, and navigate everyday challenges with ease.

What Do We Offer?

GCSE

Mathematics provides a deep, academic understanding of mathematical concepts, ranging from algebra and geometry to statistics and probability. Graded 9-1, a Grade (4 or higher) is often essential for progression to further academic studies like A-Levels and university, and is highly valued by employers for roles requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills. GCSE Mathematics exams take place in the summer as well as the autumn. The assessment typically involves three written papers, including one non-calculator paper.

GCSE Mathematics exams take place twice a year; in the autumn and the summer

Functional Skills

Maths develops practical skills for everyday life and the workplace, including numbers, measures, shape, space, and data. Functional Skills qualifications, graded pass or fail, offer an accessible route to essential numeracy skills. Level 2 is equivalent to a GCSE Grade 4. Exams are available throughout the year, with flexibility to retake when ready. These qualifications provide the foundation for employment and daily tasks.

Which course is right for me?

We offer a range of English courses to suit different needs and backgrounds. If you’re aged 16–18 and on a full-time vocational course, English will be built into your timetable based on your previous qualifications. For those aged 19 and over, courses can fit around work or lifestyle—and are free if you don’t already have a GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent.

If English isn’t your first language, ESOL helps build confidence in everyday communication and understanding British culture. Functional Skills courses focus on practical English for life and work, while GCSE English Language offers a more academic route and is ideal if you plan to progress into further or higher education.

To determine the right course for you, please apply now and our team will review the information provided in your application and place you on the right course.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

An ESOL course provides structured English language learning, and is different from both Functional Skills and GCSE English. You’ll develop essential skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing, tailored to your level. Courses often cover practical topics like everyday conversations, work, and community integration. You’ll gain confidence in using English for daily life, improve your grammar and vocabulary, and learn about British culture.

ESOL helps you participate more fully in society, access education and employment opportunities, and build connections with English speakers. It’s a pathway to greater independence and integration.

The college was great and my tutors were so patient with me. I really couldn’t have gotten through it without them. I was so well prepared by the time I sat down to do the exams.
