The Peterborough College Student Voice Team exists so that you have someone to listen to your concerns, interests and needs. We want you to get the very best out of your educational experience and our activities give you the opportunity to gain essential life skills.

Here at Peterorough College we are committed to putting the needs of students first and student voice activities are designed to give students a direct involvement in assessing and shaping their own learning experience.

What We Do

Learner Voice

The Learner Voice is very important to the College. We collect learner views in a variety of ways including:

  • Learner forums (with class reps)
  • Student Union
  • Student Parliament including meetings with the College leadership team and governors

National Union of Students

The Student Union is affiliated with the NUS (National Union of Students).  They are the national representative body for students within Great Britain. Just as PRC negotiates on your behalf with the College, NUS negotiates on your behalf with the Government. The NUS campaigns locally, regionally, nationally and internationally on behalf of students and also provides an infrastructure which helps SU’s, like our own, to reach their potential through its research, training and advice. All students at PRC are eligible to purchase for a small annual fee the TOTUM discount card which gives you access to lots of  top brand student discounts, deals and flash sales on eating out and fashion, tech and travel plus much more.

Student Union

The Student Union (SU) is the recognised organisation representing students at Peterborough College. They aim to act as the student voice to the College management team, but also provide and develop a range of artistic, cultural, sporting, political, religious and social activities for the members.

When you enrol at the College, all students automatically become part of the Student Union. Every year an Executive Committee is elected by the entire student body to act on their behalf. Everyone is welcome to stand as a candidate in those elections if they wish to.

Learner Enrichment

Learners have a wide variety of ways of getting involved in large events across college including Freshers’ Fair, Diversity Day, Be Healthy, Stay Safe Day as well as numerous smaller events throughout the year.
