We offer flexible, curriculum-aligned outreach sessions, including interactive workshops, presentations, and webinars, designed to equip transitioning students with the essential knowledge and confidence needed for college-specific pathways and future employability.
Careers Events
We actively support your school’s calendar by attending all major careers events, representing our full educational offering across Peterborough College, Stamford College, and University Centre Peterborough, and also provide a dedicated in-school Parents and Carers event.

For students or parents unable to attend Open Evenings, we offer personalised, low-stress campus tours that include a focused look at facilities and a dedicated introduction to our Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) and Student Welfare Teams.

To ensure a clear and stress-free transition, we simplify the application process by providing support and guidance from our dedicated Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) Team on everything from course selection to form completion.
EHCP, SEN and Student Welfare
We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive transition for every student, especially those with EHCP or SEN, by ensuring the smooth transfer of documentation and offering comprehensive assistance from our experienced Student Welfare Team.
Open Events
Our Open Events are the most comprehensive way for students and parents/carers to experience college life, meet course tutors and specialist teams (IAG, Careers, Welfare, etc.), explore facilities, and apply on the night itself.
Upcoming Open Events and Taster Days
Prospective students can visit Peterborough College for an Open Event where they can meet our tutors, explore our campus and learn about our facilities.
All Open Events start from 5:30PM and finish at 7:30PM.
Students that have accepted an offer to study at Peterborough College can experience a Taster Day at the college where they can have a look around, meet other students and learn more about their course area. During the taster day, college transport and lunch will be available free of charge.

Your Next Steps to Further Education
We believe that successful transition to Further Education starts with meaningful self-discovery and robust research. To support your students in finding their perfect pathway, we champion the use of free, high-quality, and engaging national resources. We encourage students to actively explore their future by engaging in three steps:
- Discover: Take personality quizzes like the Buzz Test to link natural interests to potential careers.
- Map: Use UCAS and the National Careers Service to research qualification requirements, explore pathways (A-Levels, T-Levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships), and access up-to-date Labour Market Information (LMI).
- Action: Build professional CVs and seek out Work Experience to gain practical skills and real-world insights.

FAQs
Entry requirements vary. For A-Levels, students typically need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English and Maths. For T-Levels and Level 3 Vocational courses, it’s usually five GCSEs at grade 4 or above. Specific subjects may have higher requirements.
Students who do not achieve a grade 4 in Maths and/or English will be required to resit these GCSEs alongside their main programme of study. We provide dedicated lessons and support sessions to help them achieve the required grades.
We have strong progression rates. Many of our Level 3 students progress to top universities (including Russell Group), while others secure Higher/Degree Apprenticeships or gain direct employment. Specific departmental data can be provided upon request to help with LMI (Labour Market Information) discussions.
We have a dedicated Additional Learning Support (ALS) Team at both campuses. Support is highly personalised and can include in-class support, small group sessions, assistive technology, and adapted resources, all coordinated through pre-entry transition meetings.
All our T-Levels include a mandatory, high-quality 45-day industry placement. Our Vocational courses often include shorter, relevant work placements or live employer briefs to ensure students gain practical, real-world skills.
We hold major Open Events in October, November and January at both the Peterborough and Stamford campuses. All dates and a direct booking link are available on the ‘Open Events’ section of this website.
While there is no official application deadline, we advise Year 11 students not to leave it too late to apply! If students are unsure about which courses to choose, they are welcome to contact us directly for course advice before submitting their application.
Admissions Process Timeline:

- Application: Submitted online via our portal.
- Offer:Â A conditional offer is typically made automatically, based on the predicted GCSE grades provided in the application.Â
- Interview:Â An online or in-person interview may be scheduled for students applying to specific courses, or if the admissions team needs further clarity on their application details.
- Final Enrolment:Â Confirmed in August (after results day), once the student has achieved the required GCSE results outlined in their conditional offer.
