Peterborough College Welcomes YDP USA Guest Speakers to Highlight American Sports Scholarship Opportunities

Peterborough College’s Sport department recently welcomed guest speakers Josh Carpenter and Sam Bayly, who visited to share valuable insights regarding sports scholarship opportunities in the United States through YDP USA.

Youth Dreams Project (YDP) is a sports coaching and youth development organisation dedicated to inspiring young people through high-quality sports initiatives, post-16 educational pathways, and professional athletic development. Through its YDP USA scholarship, the organisation helps bridge the gap between UK student-athletes and American collegiate sports programs, providing guidance, recruitment support, and direct access to international opportunities.

During their visit, Josh Carpenter and Sam Bayly spoke directly with students about the potential to combine higher education with athletic development in America. Representing YDP USA’s scholarship program, the guest speakers detailed how aspiring student-athletes can secure sports scholarships, offering a pathway to study towards a degree while competing at a high level in American collegiate sports.

The session provided Peterborough College Sport students with an overview of the application process, athletic expectations, and academic pathways available through YDP USA’s network. By sharing their expertise and highlighting the real-world possibilities of studying abroad, Josh and Sam inspired students to consider international options for both their academic and sporting futures.
