Peterborough College Student Designs Poster for Peterborough Citizens' 'It's Not Banter' Campaign
Art and Design student at Peterborough College, Poppy Nottingham, has had her work selected to be used as part of Peterborough Citizens’ It’s Not Banter! campaign, which promotes inclusion and challenges discrimination within education and the local community.
Poppy’s work was recently announced as the winning design in a city-wide initiative organised by Peterborough Citizens alongside Inspire Education Group (IEG).
Poppy’s poster highlights the campaign’s core message: “It’s not banter if it’s hurtful, mocking, or discriminatory.“
The poster will be used in schools, colleges, and community spaces across Peterborough as part of an educational toolkit designed to foster inclusivity and respect.
At Peterborough College, students are provided with real-world opportunities and live project briefs that prepare them for life beyond education. By collaborating with employers and community organisations, the College equips students with the skills and experiences needed to succeed in their chosen careers. This approach not only enhances student prospects but also supports local businesses by addressing skills shortages and contributing to the growth of the local economy. The It’s Not Banter! campaign is a prime example of how students can use their creativity to make a meaningful impact while developing skills that are highly valued by employers.
