Peterborough College Public Uniformed Services Students Join City’s Remembrance Parade
Public Uniformed Services students from Peterborough College proudly took part in Peterborough’s annual Remembrance Parade for the very first time, joining Veterans, the Armed Forces, and community representatives in paying tribute to those who served and sacrificed in conflict.
The students marched alongside the Royal British Legion, the Armed Forces, and Cadet organisations through the city centre before attending the Remembrance Service at the War Memorial and the Cathedral. Throughout the event, they represented the College and the wider community with pride, discipline, and respect.
Their participation marks a significant moment for the College’s Uniformed Services department, demonstrating the values of teamwork, respect, and service that are central to their studies and future careers in public service.
Adam Huber, Public Service Lecturer said: “I felt incredibly rewarded and proud to watch my students represent the course and the college in front of the community. Seeing them demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and confidence in a public setting really brought to life the values and skills we focus on throughout the Uniformed Services course.”
He continued, “Moments like this show what I teach discipline, communication, leadership, and service translated into the real world. It’s exactly what the course is designed to develop: preparing students to conduct themselves with integrity and pride, just as they would in a uniformed service role. Their performance was a true reflection of their dedication, commitment, and the pride they have in their achievements.”
The event provided students with an opportunity to experience the traditions of remembrance firsthand, reflecting on the importance of honouring those who gave their lives in the service of others.
Peterborough College is proud of the professionalism and dedication shown by its students, who upheld the spirit of remembrance and community on this important national day.
The students will also host their own Remembrance ceremony on Friday, 14th November, at 10:30 am on the Peterborough campus, for staff, students, and the local community to pay their respects.
