Peterborough College Beauty Students Support Breast Cancer Awareness at Local Rugby Club

23 October 2026

Level 2 Beauty students from Peterborough College recently stepped out of the classroom and into the community, raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness at Peterborough Rugby Club’s annual Ladies Day.

For the second year running, the Beauty students were invited back by event organiser Hanna to provide relaxing arm and hand massages for attendees in exchange for charitable donations to the cause.

Accompanied by course lecturers Anna Gundel and Kim Verdi, the first-year students bravely volunteered for the event despite having started their course only six weeks ago. The fundraiser provided an invaluable platform for the students to refine their practical skills while engaging directly with the public.

“Events like this give our beauty students a powerful reminder of how meaningful their work can be.” Said Kim. “Massaging attendees at the fundraiser gave them real client experience in an open, public setting, helping them develop adaptable communication, professionalism and the confidence to step comfortably into their roles going forward in a salon or spa environment.”

The event was a success, offering guests a chance to unwind for a good cause while giving students a confidence boost.
