Business Students Swap Classrooms for Commerce in Multi-Charity Event Success
The enterprise lounge was transformed into a vibrant trade fair this week as Level 3 Business students took over to host their final ‘Managing an Event’ assessment.
Moving beyond the theory, seven separate student groups launched their own unique stalls and activities. The event tested every aspect of the student’s business knowledge, from initial market research and budgeting to the live event.
The students organised a variety of stalls, including a competitive ping pong challenge and lucky tips, as well as custom key rings and cake decorating. Each group operated as an independent business unit, responsible for its own customer service experience.
Level 3 Business student, Rhianna, said: “This event really gave me the opportunity to put the skills and knowledge I’ve gained throughout this course into practice, and because of that, I’ve been able to see how far I’ve come as a business student. Not only has this event given me an insight into what it takes to plan and run an event, but it has also taught me how important teamwork, communication, and adaptability are in ensuring everything runs smoothly.”
By the end of the event, the teams had collectively raised money, which has been distributed among charities including Children in Need, Cancer Research UK and Sue Ryder.
