Successful completion of this course accrues UCAS points, and a number of major UK universities accept T Levels. Please see points achieved by grades below:

Due to the high-level academic nature of the T-Level and the considerable industry placement element totaling a minimum of 315 hours, you will also have the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors to successfully progress directly into a specialist area of the science industry, or you can progress to an apprenticeship or higher level study.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for you if you wish to pursue a career in the Science industry. The purpose of the T Level (technical qualification), is to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to progress into skilled employment, higher-level technical training or a university programme within the science sector.

This course offers you an attractive alternative to A Levels and apprenticeships. An industry-based work placement is required to run alongside your course, this must be a minimum of 315 hours and will further reinforce your newly learned skills and offer a true insight into the science industry.

  • Health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Managing information and data
  • Ethics of science and how it influences the work undertaken by organisations
  • Principles of good scientific and clinical practice
  • Scientific methodology 
  • Experimental equipment and techniques
  • Biology, Chemistry and Physics equivalent to A-level standard
  • Practical skills including:
  • Performing a range of appropriate scientific techniques.
  • Plan, review, implement and suggest improvements
  • Identify and resolve issues with scientific equipment or data errors

You will study utilising learning resources and materials such as:

Your T-Level will include an industry placement with an employer to develop the practical and technical skills required for the occupation. We will support you in finding relevant work placements but you must demonstrate willingness to travel to your work placements. These will last a minimum of 315 hours (around 45 days). Employers can offer industry placements as a block, day release or a combination of the two.
