What can this course lead to?
Successful completion of this course accrues UCAS points and a number of major UK universities accept T Levels for courses in Adult Nursing and other specialist degree routes such as Child Nursing and Mental Health. Please see points achieved by grades below.

Due to the high-level academic nature of the T-Level and the considerable industry placement element totalling a minimum of 315 hours, the course is also designed to allow you to progress directly in to the healthcare industry. In addition, you may consider undertaking a degree Apprenticeship in nursing as an alternative route.
Who is it for?
Health is a vital field that we all depend upon as the Covid pandemic has clearly demonstrated to us all. This T level is a 2 year course, equivalent to 3 A Levels but with a more vocational focus in Adult Nursing and designed to provide you with the skills, experience and knowledge required to progress into a career in Adult Nursing.
You’ll gain in-depth industry experience via a work placement in the healthcare sector so you have more focus on vocational skills development than A Levels. This will help you into skilled employment in Health, or progress to University or an Apprenticeship. In addition to classroom-based lessons, the course includes a minimum of 315 hours working with an employer on a relevant industry placement.

5 GCSEs at grades 5/C or above including English Language, Maths and Science or a Grade A in a relevant Level 2 qualification, including grades 4/C or above in GCSE English, Maths and Science.
You will also need a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate with no grounds that you are professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement. The College manages applications for a DBS, and we will contact you with the forms and guidance you require to complete during enrolment.
The core knowledge and understanding is assessed through two externally marked exams, with the core skills being assessed through a compulsory practical employer-set project (315 hours minimum).
The combined results from the exam and the compulsory employer-set project will determine the overall grade (A*- to U, in line with A Levels).
You will be assessed on the occupational specialist content synoptically, through practical assignments graded on a three-point scale: Distinction, Merit, and Pass, in line with Diploma qualifications.
As part of the course, you’ll get the chance to take part in various trips. An initial deposit/payment will be required as part of the enrolment process
Your T Level will include an industry placement with an employer to develop the practical and technical skills required for the occupation. We will support you in finding relevant work placements but you must demonstrate willingness to travel to your work placements. These will last a minimum of 315 hours (around 45 days). Employers can offer industry placements as a block, day release or a combination of the two.
