T-Level in Health (Clinical) Supporting Mental Health

What can this course lead to?

Designed and developed in collaboration with employers, this course is a mixture of classroom and work based learning to give you the technical skills and workplace experience to kick-start your career into the health sector.

You will complete a core technical qualification, occupational specialism in supporting the mental health team. addition, you may consider undertaking a degree Apprenticeship in nursing as an alternative route.

Due to the high-level academic nature of the T-Level and the considerable industry placement element totalling a minimum of 315 hours, you will also have the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to successfully progress directly in to specialist area of the science industry, or you can progress on to an apprenticeship or higher level study.

Who is it for?

Your T-Level will include an industry placement with an employer to develop the practical and technical skills required for the occupation. We will support you in finding relevant work placements but you must demonstrate willingness to travel to your work placements.

These will last a minimum of 750 hours. Employers can offer industry placements as a block, day release or a combination of the two. You will also require a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced disclosure certificate which the College will support you to apply for.

  • • Health and wellbeing
  • • Further science knowledge
  • • Health and safety in the Healthcare sector
  • • Infection prevention and control
  • • Managing personal information.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

5 GCSEs at grades 5/C or above, including English Language, Maths and Science, or a Grade A  in a relevant Level 2 qualification, including grades 4/C or above in GCSE English, Maths and Science.

You will also need a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate with no grounds that you are professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement. The College manages applications for a DBS, and we will contact you with the forms and guidance you require to complete this during enrolment.
