Who is it for?

The Personal Social Development Course (PSD) is a good starting point for learners who need a little extra help with social skills or building confidence and independence, before moving on to the next step in their journey.

The course is available at various levels (including Entry Levels and Level 1) and applicants will be encouraged to attend taster sessions to assess the best level to suit their needs.

What is covered?

You will cover a range of subjects that are carefully chosen to cover individual outcomes that will improve your personal independence and social confidence while also expanding your knowledge of the world around you.

We will explore subjects such as:

  • Relationships and social skills
  • Personal Identity
  • Rights and responsibilities
  • Personal health
  • Sport and leisure
  • Independent living (to help with those skills you need to become more independent)
  • Maths and English.

You will have the opportunity to explore new challenges and new experiences that will be based on the specific needs of each learner.
