5 GCSEs at grade 4/C including English. Or a Merit in a relevant Level 2 qualification, plus GCSE English at grade 4/C or a pass in English Functional Skills Level 2. You will also be required to audition with your instrument of choice at the interview.
Through practical work, presentation (written and performance) and continuous assessment throughout the year.
As part of the course you will need to be available for select evening rehearsals and performances (dates are provided well in advance) and you will require the department’s standard performance uniform (to be discussed at your interview).
You will also need to provide your own industry standard earplugs for all performance work, instruments, tuners, capos, plectrums, drumsticks and guitar leads.
You will also need a set of headphones and a USB stick.

Full-time courses are fully funded for 16 to 19-year-olds. For age 19+, various funding options are available.
