  • Level 3 Certificate in Stroke Care Management

Who is it for?

This qualification is designed for a wide range of learners who wish to gain an understanding of end of life care and can support progression into employment within the health and social care sector.

By 2040, the number of people aged over 64 in Britain is expected to grow from 9.5 million to 15 million. The population is aging, meaning more people will live with serious chronic illness and need end of life care.

The problems faced and support needed by people nearing the end of life is wide-ranging and a good understanding of pain management, support and quality of life is essential for all carers.

What is covered?

To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care, learners are required to successfully complete 6 units:  

  • Unit 01 Understand how to work in End of Life Care
  • Unit 02 Care planning in End of Life Care
  • Unit 03 Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort
  • Unit 04 End of Life Care and dementia 
  • Unit 05 Understanding the role of the care worker in time of death
  • Unit 06 Understand loss and grief in End of Life Care

 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

You need to be aged 19 or over at the start of the current academic year to be able to enrol on one of our Distance Learning courses. 

You will also need to be working at or above Level 1 in English.

We will assess your level of English before we enrol you onto the course and can signpost you to our Functional Skills English courses to upskill if necessary.
