What can this course lead to?

Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress on to the Level 2 in Construction or other relevant level 2 courses subject to you achieving your Functional Skills maths, as well as a Merit at this level.

Because you will have developed the skills that employers are looking for, you could choose to continue your studies on an apprenticeship programme in the construction craft sector (e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry or brickwork) or enter employment at a junior level.

This course has been designed to help you learn and understand different aspects of the construction industry.

This course is a great introduction to the wide range of practical construction careers available.

What is covered?

You will learn and gain experience in a variety of craft trades such as electrical, carpentry, brickwork and plumbing as well as learning about roles of professional/technicians within the construction industry such as surveyors, architects, town planners and property managers.

This will provide you with a great foundation and knowledge of what is involved within the construction industry and what employment opportunities may be available to you if you choose to pursue a career within this area.
