All students should report their absences using their Individual Learning Platform (ILP) on ProPortal. You should also use this to report when you are running late, leaving college early, or if you have a pre-arranged appointment.
It is a good idea to save this page to your favourites on your mobile web browser so you can easily access it to report an absence. You should aim for 100% attendance and only take time off college for extreme circumstances.
How to Report Your Absence Online
If you will not be attending college when you are due to attend, you must report this through your ILP. Log into your ILP and select “Submit Absence Request” from the “Personal Information” menu on the left side of the screen.
Step 1
You will need to log in to ProPortal using your usual College credentials that you normally use to access College.
Step 2
Select ’Submit Absence Request ’ from the Personal Information menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
Step 3
On the following screen, complete the following fields and click on submit.

Date From | First day you will absent |
Date To | Last day you expect to be absent |
Mark Type | Must be Authorised Absence – A mark |
Reason | One option must be selected which may be Other if there is no suitable alternative |
Notes | Further details of reason for absence. Must be completed |
If you are absent for full days, you can leave the time blank. If you will only be absent for half a day, you can specify Time From and Time To. This uses a 24 hour format, so 1pm would be 13:00. The notification of when your request has been processed will be sent to your college email address.

How to Report Your Absence Via Phone
You should only call the absence line if you cannot log into your ProPortal ILP.
