Tammy Banks Honoured at Peterborough College as 2023/24 Women in Innovation Award Winner
Tammy Banks, former student at Peterborough College, has transformed her life in an extraordinary way. Overcoming significant challenges with determination and support from the College community, Tammy has achieved remarkable success as a renowned entrepreneur, social advocate and two-time TEDx speaker.
This year, Tammy was honoured with the 2023/24 Women in Innovation Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to society. From her early days as a student at Peterborough College to becoming a Lay Member on the House of Commons Committee for Standards, Tammy’s story is a powerful testament to the impact of resilience and the support of educators and services.
This summer, Tammy was invited to speak at the Inspire Education Group (IEG) Staff Conference, where she shared her inspiring journey and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Peterborough College who helped shape her success. Tammy reflected on how the encouragement and guidance she received during her studies gave her the foundation to thrive personally and professionally.
Tammy earned her BSc (Hons) in Psychology and went on to establish Taye Training, pioneering trauma-informed training solutions to address critical social issues like abuse and poverty. Through her work, she has inspired countless individuals to embrace kindness and values-led, quality training to transform lives.
Her exceptional contributions have been recognised with prestigious accolades, including The Royal Princess Training Award and The Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award.
This award presentation was a moment to celebrate Tammy’s triumphs and recognise the profound impact of education and support networks in shaping lives.
