Peterborough College Celebrates National Recognition for Supported Internship Finance Workshop

Peterborough College’s Supported Internship team has been recognised with an award following a successful partnership with HSBC, which saw students take part in a series of workshops focused on budgeting and financial management.

The Supported Internship group worked closely with HSBC representatives who delivered eight on-site sessions throughout the year. These interactive workshops provided invaluable learning experiences around everyday banking, budgeting, and personal finance.

Sadie Carnichan, Supported Internship tutor, said: “The workshops were a fantastic opportunity to get an insight into the world of banking and managing money and will allow them to make positive financial decisions and develop their independence as they explore the world of work. We hope to continue our positive and successful relationship with HSBC with further workshops, as they’re a valuable asset to our programme and IEG.”

This recognition highlights the importance of tailored financial education for Supported Interns, helping them develop the confidence and independence needed to manage their finances as they prepare for future employment and adulthood.
