Peterborough College Beauty Students Support Local Charity at Ladies Day

15 October 2025

Our Beauty students recently showcased their skills and community spirit at Ladies Day, hosted by Peterborough Rugby Club, helping to raise money for Breast Cancer Now through Relay for Life Cancer Research.

Joined by tutors Kim Verdi and Anna Gundel, the students provided arm and hand massages to attendees throughout the day, with every donation going directly to the fundraising pot. The generosity of guests was incredible, with one attendee even donating £25 for her mini treatment!

The event combined a lively atmosphere with an important message, featuring lunch, entertainment, and a local rugby derby match, all in support of cancer research. It provided an excellent opportunity for Peterborough College students to engage with the public, gain real-world experience and support a meaningful cause.

The team were warmly welcomed by the Rugby Club and were truly inspired by the event’s positive atmosphere and strong sense of community. Following their success on the day, the students and tutors have already been invited to participate in future events and collaborations with the club.

This initiative is part of Peterborough College’s ongoing commitment to encouraging community involvement and hands-on learning experiences. The Beauty Department is also exploring opportunities to take part in additional local projects, including visits to care homes and charity fundraisers, helping students apply their skills while giving back to the community.

Peterborough College is proud of its students for their professionalism, enthusiasm and compassion in supporting such an important cause. Events like Ladies Day not only raise essential funds for charity but also demonstrate how education and community engagement can make a lasting difference.
