Peterborough College Apprentices Shine at Regional Bricklaying Competition

23 March 2026

Peterborough College is celebrating the success of two apprentices who recently competed in the prestigious regional heat of the Guild of Bricklayers competition, held at West Suffolk College’s Built Environment Campus.

Representing the College, two apprentices showcased their skills against some of the region’s top emerging talent:

Leoni McDougall – Senior category entrant, employed by Allison Homes

Archie Parrott – Junior category entrant, employed by Duffin Builders Ltd

Both apprentices delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating a high level of technical ability, professionalism and pride in their work. They were excellent ambassadors for Peterborough College and their respective employers.

Leoni achieved an incredible 1st place in the senior category, securing her place at the National Final, which will take place in Leeds in May 2026. This remarkable accomplishment reflects her dedication, skill and commitment to excellence in her trade.

Archie also impressed judges, finishing in 4th place in the junior category, narrowly missing out on a podium position. As this was his first-ever competition, his achievement is particularly commendable and highlights a promising future in the industry.

Both apprentices were awarded prizes and certificates in recognition of their hard work and success on the day.

Peterborough College is immensely proud of Leoni and Archie’s achievements and looks forward to supporting Leoni as she progresses to the national stage.
