Local Leaders Visit Peterborough’s Centre for Green Technology Construction Site After Towns Fund Meeting
Peterborough College, part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), welcomed key members of the Towns Fund board and leaders from prominent local organisations for an important meeting focused on advancing the city’s green economy.
The meeting was attended by key members of the Towns Fund board, along with local leaders and partners from Nene Park Trust, Peterborough City Council, PECT, and more, for a pivotal meeting focused on the city’s future. The day concluded with an exclusive site visit to our upcoming Centre for Green Technology (CGT), which is set to open in early 2025.
The CGT aims to equip students with skills for high-growth industries such as sustainable construction and electric vehicle manufacturing, preparing the workforce for the future.
The project has been primarily funded by a £1.9 million package from Peterborough City Council via the Towns Fund, with additional contributions of £2.471 million from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) through the Transforming Cities Fund and £400,000 from the Local Growth Fund.
