From Workshop to Workforce: Peterborough College Showcases Engineering Success for National Engineering Day

Among those excelling within the department is Rheanne, an outstanding Engineering student whose passion for the subject has seen her develop advanced technical skills and a strong understanding of how engineering can positively impact the environment.

“My love of cars inspired me to choose an apprenticeship in engineering. I’ve never been one for exams, so the hands-on approach was perfect for me.”

Since completing her apprenticeship, Rheanne has secured a position at MBDA, a European leader in missile and complex weapon systems.

Former Peterborough College student Gary is a perfect example of progression from classroom to workplace. Now a Section Leader at Baker Perkins, Gary credits his time at the College for setting him on the path to success.

“The college has given me a solid foundation of knowledge, which has helped me to progress directly into a role in the industry.”

Peterborough College’s strong partnerships with employers such as Codem Composites demonstrate how collaboration between education and industry helps shape a skilled and adaptable workforce. Monika Wiacek, Training Supervisor at Codem Composites, said:
