Art & Design Student Creatively Promotes Sport Studies
Level 3 Art and Design student, River, chose the Sports department as part of an ongoing collaboration project.
Students within Art and Design have been tasked with a live brief to produce a series of bespoke artworks designed to promote and visually elevate a different department area.
River is a passionate artist and wanted to paint a dynamic pose to challenge themselves. Talking about the piece, River said ‘Sport offers dynamism in movement I wanted to capture. The act of striking a football creates a powerful image.’
The artwork was presented to Matt Young, Sports Lecturer, who said “River has showcased an amazing visual representation of professional players at their peak at the highest level of football. Whilst incorporating her amazing artwork of showcasing the certain movement which is paramount in the sport as well as celebrating the success of the players included in the artwork will inspire our current learners and future learners to aspire to be just like them.”
Following the successful completion of their course, River Brooker plans to progress onto an apprenticeship while continuing to develop their portfolio as an independent artist.
