Water Regulations Training Course

Gain an essential Water Regulations qualification, necessary for heat pump and solar thermal installation. This 1-day training course is ideal for experienced plumbers and heating engineers who want to expand into heat pump or solar thermal installation, join their local Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme (WIAPS), a Competent Person Scheme (CPS) and/or register with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

This course is aimed at those who have two years of plumbing experience or qualified plumbers , but there are no formal pre-requisites

This course covers the Water Regulations (1999) and is a necessary requirement for qualified plumbers (minimum Level 2) looking to join WIAPS, a CPS or MCS.

This course covers the following areas:

• Interpretation and definitions
• Materials and substances
• Requirements, design and installation
• Backflow and contamination prevention
• Hot and cold-water services
• Flushing devices
• Sanitary appliances, both internal and external

This course is a prerequisite for our Heat Pump Installation & Solar Thermal Installation Courses.

It is classroom based, there is no practical element. You will be assessed by a multiple-choice paper.

On completion of this course, you will receive a certificate from LCL Awards showing that you are up to date with the current water regulations.
