Who is it for?

Research from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) states that around 6% of the population live with a diagnosed food allergy but around 30% of adults reported experiencing an adverse reaction when eating certain foods. Food allergies can be life threatening, so it’s important that food is labelled and handled correctly to keep people with allergies safe.

Local authorities are responsible for enforcing allergen information regulations, but businesses need to ensure that all staff have up-to-date allergy training. This food allergy course will give you an understanding of allergens, the causes, and how to deal with reactions.

What is covered?

To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in in Allergy Awareness Working in the Service Sector, learners are required to successfully complete 3 units:

  • Unit 01 Allergens, Allergies and Intolerances
  • Unit 02 Food Labelling
  • Unit 03 Allergy Awareness for those Working with children.

  • To be aged 19 or over at the start of the current academic year to be able to enrol on one of our Distance Learning courses.
  • To be working at or above Level 1 in English.
