Summer Extra English Language Practice

What can this course lead to?

If your attendance over the course is good (more than 80%), you will be given priority in progressing to other ESOL courses at the college from September.

Who is it for?

This course is an intensive course from Monday to Friday every weekday morning in July (except for Monday 6th July).

You will practise your English skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), grammar and vocabulary and the focus will be on developing confidence in English.

You will receive a test at the end of the course and an attendance certificate (but this is not an accredited course).

What is covered?

Each day you will have language skills, vocabulary and grammar lessons based on topics of interest.

You will develop confidence in all four skills, learn how to communicate in English in a more confident and effective way (including a focus on pronunciation) and also learn more about the UK and other cultures.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Learners will be tested and placed in two language ability levels: Entry 2 (A2) and Level 1+ (B1+) before classes start.

I came to the UK in May 2020 during lockdown and didn’t speak any English, so to pass all my ESOL courses from Level 1 to Level 3 is a huge achievement for me. College has been amazing – I have learned so much about different cultures and I have made great friends who support each other!
