On successful completion of this course at Merit and the achievement of GCSE English at grade 4/C, you can progress onto our Level 3 Creative Media Production in TV/Film/Audio or Journalism. You could also explore apprenticeship options. This can then lead into careers within the creative sector, such as TV/Film Runner, Production Assistant, Videographer, News Reporter, Social Media Assistant etc.

What is covered?
You will study three core units in this qualification:
- Exploring and developing creative media skills - creating a portfolio of work through a range of practical projects, based on a range of digital and traditional media techniques including photography, filmmaking, podcast production, animation and zines.
- Personal development - planning for your future.
- Responding to a creative brief - a major project based around developing a specific specialisation, such as filmmaking.

The course is made up of classroom based sessions, alongside more practical workshops in our specialist studios.
Assessment is through the production of a portfolio of evidence based on practical work and assignments.
