What can this course lead to?

This is a highly regarded and internationally recognised qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). It is the minimum qualification required to teach English as a foreign language in further education colleges, universities and private language schools in the UK.

This course is for students/teachers who:

  • Already have some language teaching experience but who want to develop their skills.
  • Who want to travel and teach English abroad.

What is covered?

This is a well-established and highly practicalteacher training course which provides the methodology, hands-on teaching practice (sixhours) and feedback to enable you to teach effectively in the English Language classroom. Although this course will give you the methodology and confidence to begin teaching in as little as four weeks, candidates need to be aware that it is a very intensive course that will require them to spend extra time on coursework outside class time and at weekends.

  • Be at least 18 (preferably aged 20 or over). 
  • Have a recommended language level in spoken and written English of C2 or C1+ on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
  • Have access to a computer or laptop and possess basic IT skills.
  • Have the potential to develop the necessary skills to become effective teachers.
