4 GCSEs at grades 4/C or above including English and maths. Alternatively, a Pass in a relevant Level 2 qualification, and a GCSE grade 4/C in English and maths, or a pass for functional skills Level 2 English and Maths.
We will review each application on a case-by-case basis to ensure you get a place on the course most suitable for you. One of the ways we do this is through a very effective ‘6 weeks to success programme’ that operates from the first day you start your course.
This includes support such as (but not limited to): Allowing you to change courses if you change your mind in the first 6 weeks – subject to course availability Moving you between course levels if you are finding your current level too easy / too hard – subject to course availability One-to-one reviews with your academic tutor to ensure you are progressing and achieving well.
We use a variety of techniques to support all learning styles such as: Written reports Creation of financial documents projects posters, displays, leaflets recordings of interviews/role plays working logbooks, reflective journals presentations with assessor questioning. You will undertake work experience as part of the course to allow you to get hands on experience of the industry.
You are assessed via assignments which are set in each unit throughout the College year. Assignments vary between group and individual work, with many different assessment methods employed in order to reflect the real world of work and all classwork and assignment work is available on Google classroom to ensure you have access to your work on a 24/7 basis. All units studied are supplemented with enrichment activities such as guest speakers, trips and cross curricula activities. There are two exams per year. The remaining assessments consist of internally set and marked assignments.
