The College Nursery celebrates “Outstanding” OFSTED report
Staff at the College Nursery based on our grounds at Park Crescent, were rewarded late last month with the news that they had been rated Outstanding at their latest OFSTED inspection on 8th June 2017.
The nursery, which received a ‘good’ rating in its previous inspection in 2013, celebrates its 25th year this year and welcomed the assessment of ‘outstanding’ in all four areas. Inspectors said that “leadership is inspirational, children form exceptionally close bonds with their key person and staff take the time and effort to really get to know the children and their families as they settle”.
They also said that “the children are extremely independent and confident, they can skilfully learn to solve their own conflicts and are highly praised by staff for their efforts, and that they are very well prepared for moving on to school”.
To improve further, inspectors suggested the nursery could review the implementation of the planned changes to further support children who speak English as an additional language and evaluate the impact this has on children’s learning experiences.
Nursery manager Adele Moore said “We are absolutely thrilled to have received the judgement Outstanding – this grade reflects the hard work and dedication that the team continue to put into their roles. Our aim is to ensure we are offering the best possible care and education to all children who attend our setting, providing them with stimulating, fun and exciting opportunities that are uniquely tailored to each child. We are pleased that this is evident in our report and having our hard work recognised fills us all with such pride. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all families, past and present for their ongoing support.”
