What can this course lead to?

Successful completion of this course accrues UCAS points, and a number of major UK universities accept T Levels. Please see points achieved by grades below:

  • T Level Distinction* = 168 UCAS Tariff Points = A*A*A* at A Level
  • T Level Distinction = 144 UCAS Tariff Points = AAA at A Level
  • T Level Merit = 120 UCAS Tariff Points = BBB at A Level
  • T Level Pass (C or above) = 96 UCAS Tariff Points = CCC at A Level
  • T Level Pass (D or E) = 72 UCAS Tariff Points = DDD at A Level

Due to the high-level academic nature of the T-Level and the considerable industry placement element totaling a minimum of 315 hours, the course is also designed to allow you to progress directly into the engineering industry in your chosen field, or you can progress to an Apprenticeship.

Who is it for?

This Technical Qualification consists of a core section including health and safety, material science, and engineering mathematics with the subject specialism being maintenance engineering technologies. After completing basic skills modules, you will progress on to learning about advanced diagnostic techniques for multiple mechanical systems. You will work in the engineering workshops to gain the required hand and machining skills, whilst attending theory lessons conducted in a classroom. An industry-based work placement is required to run alongside your course; this must be equivalent to at least 45 days and will further reinforce your newly learned skills and offer a true insight into the engineering industry.
