Who is it for
The GCSE enables students to progress to employment or to proceed to further qualifications. Students will develop the skills they need to read, understand and analyse a wide range of different texts covering the 19th, 20th and 21st century time periods as well as to write clearly, coherently and accurately using a range of vocabulary and sentence structures.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be invited in for an assessment where you will also need to bring along your certificates as evidence of your qualifications.
What will I need
All applicants will be required to do an initial screener.
You will need GCSE grade D or 3 in English or functional skills level 2 English. Or an equivalent level from another country confirmed by UK Naric.
If you do not meet the above entry requirements you will need to complete functional skills English. Please contact the Information Centre on 0345 872 8722 for referral.
Are there any additional costs
GCSE English will be free for 19+ learners who have not achieved a grade C, 4 or above. Eligibility will be reviewed upon receipt of application – prior grade achievement and/or a brief assessment activity may be used to determine suitability for a place on the course.
