Who is it for

This course is ideal for maintenance personnel or enthusiasts hoping to gain employment in the field of welding. The course covers a wide variety of aspects of welding including ARC welding, MIG/MAGS welding, TIG welding, oxyacetylene welding and gas cutting. This is a general welding course leading to a College certificate.

Choice from 6 welding options: 

• Manual Metal ARC Welding
• MIG/MAGS Welding
• TIG Welding (Stainless Steel)
• TIG Welding (Mild Steel)
• TIG Welding (Aluminium)
• Oxyacetylene Welding

How is the course assessed

Five externally assessed, mandatory practical's for each certificate plus underpinning knowledge questions.

What can this course lead to

This course is a good starting point for those wishing to progress to the ABC 165 Fabrication and Welding Programme. Level 2 achievement could lead to employment within the welding industry.

Are there any additional costs

You must supply and wear overalls and safety boots in the workshop.
