Who is it for
Anyone with an interest in health and social care and would like to get a basic understanding of the area. It will also help you to get the skills for finding a job.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need an interest in health and social care, a willingness to work hard and a minimum of Entry 2 English and maths.

What is covered?
A number of introductory units about the health and social care sector and employability skills including:
• Equality in health and social care
• Job roles in health and social care
• Principles and values in health and social care
• Healthy eating
• Various other subjects relating to health and social care
• Online learning
You will also carry out mandatory work placements and you will also complete English and maths within the programme of study.

What can this course lead to
You may be able to progress onto Health and Social Care Level 1 if you achieve the Entry Level 3 Functional Skills in English alongside the course.
As part of the course you will gain employability skills through work experience.
