Who is it for
Anyone who would like to gain a basic interest in working towards a career within both health/ social care and childcare.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need an interest in working within either health/social care or childcare. You must also have an entry level 2 functional skill in both English and Maths.
What is covered
A number of introductory units about both health/social care and childcare that will support your development to have a career in either profession.
Examples of units covered:
• Working in a team
• Mental health
• Building confidence through play
• Health and safety
How is the course assessed
There will be a range of assignments allocated to each unit of study, all assignments for each unit must be completed in order to gain your qualification. You will complete a range of assessment methods and can only be graded either a pass or a fail.
What can this course lead to
Completion of this course will support your progression onto the NCFE Level 1 Introduction to health/social care and young people's and early years settings qualification. To progress you will also be required to achieve both Entry level 3 Functional skills in English and Maths.
As part of the course you will gain employability skills through work experience.
