Who is it for
Anyone with an interest in health and social care/childcare and would like to get a basic understanding of the area. It will also help you to get the skills for finding a job.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need an interest in health and social care, a willingness to work hard and a minimum of Entry 2 English and maths.
What is covered
A number of introductory units about the health and social care/childcare sector and employability skills including:
• Equality in health and social care/childcare
• Job roles in health and social care/childcare
• Principles and values in health and social care/childcare
• Healthy eating
• Various other subjects relating to health and social care
• Online learning
You will also carry out mandatory work placements and you will also complete English and maths within the programme of study.
How is the course assessed
There will be a range of assignments allocated to each unit of study, all assignments for each unit must be completed in order to gain your qualification. You will complete a range of assessment methods and can only be graded either a pass or a fail.
What can this course lead to
You may be able to progress onto Level 1 Health and Social Care if you achieve the Entry Level 3 Functional Skills in English alongside the course.
As part of the course you will gain employability skills through work experience.
