Who is it for
This advanced course is designed to provide a balanced programme of music performance, music theory and essential elements of music technology. This combination is important as an understanding of all these elements will help you meet the demands of the music industry, progress in your chosen career and prepare you for further study levels.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event, details will be provided upon application.You will need to attend an audition to assess your suitability for the course. The audition will cover a music performance of two contrasting prepared pieces of music of your own choice and one piece chosen for you to learn.
What will I need
4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above and must include English or maths. You will need to attend an interview and audition before starting this course.

Through practical work, presentation (written and performance) and continuous assessment throughout the year.

Are there any additional costs
You will need to provide your own industrial standard earplugs for all performance work, instruments, tuners, capos, plectrums, drumsticks, theory work books and music manuscript paper. You will also need to buy the department's standard performance uniform (discussed at interview) and be available for evening rehearsals and performances.
