Who is it for
This NCFE CACHE Level 3 course is ideal if you wish to follow a professional career in health or social care, for example as a nurse, social worker, youth worker, physiotherapist or probation officer.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths, or a relevant level 2 qualification including English and maths GCSE at grade C/4. You will also be required to have a DBS check for placement.
What is covered
The course covers a number of interesting, advanced topics including:
• Development through the life stages
• Anatomy and physiology for health and social care
• Equality and diversity and communications in health and social care
You will also carry out mandatory work placements in a health and social care setting.
How is the course assessed
Work experience, an external assessment, assignments and practical assessments.
What can this course be combined with
You may also have the opportunity to study a recognised first aid course. The work experience in this course will develop the skills you will require to work in care and this is reflected in the professional design of the work, which is mapped to the knowledge and skills framework of the health and social care sector.
What can this course lead to
You can progress to higher educationto study for a degree or diploma in related professions, such as nursing/ midwifery, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work or youth and community work. You may also wish to progress straight into a
workplace with further training in a health or social care setting.
Are there any additional costs
You will need to buy suitable shoes and clothing for work in a care setting and there may also be costs for travel expenses to your work placement.
