Who is it for
If you have an interest in special effects, theatre and prosthetics make–up or would enjoy a career demonstrating make–up techniques for specialist companies then the Level 3 Special Effects and Media Make–up Artistry course could be for you!
We will provide you with all the knowledge, skills and experience you need to become a successful make–up artist within the television, film, fashion, theatre and music industry.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C/5 or above including English and maths, and
a level 2 qualification in hair, beauty or media make–up and the required English
and maths level, along with a reference from work or school.

Theatrical special effects route:
• Cutting and styling techniques for performers
• Avant Garde hair and make–up
• Create make–up design for productions and industry demands
• Apply prosthetic pieces and bald caps
• Special effects make–up
• Create, dress and fit facial postiche
• Body art for competition
How is the course assessed
By assignments, written tests and practical assessments with a portfolio of work submitted at the end of the course.
