Who is it for
This course is for you if you enjoy working with people and would like to work in the travel and tourism industry. You will study many interesting subjects including how to plan trips, marketing, customer service, careers in travel, holiday destinations and European travel.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
4 GCSEs at grade 3/D or above and must include English or maths.
What is covered
You will study a range of modules to broaden your understanding of the travel and tourism industry:
• UK and worldwide travel destinations
• Resort representatives
• Activity tourism
• Interpersonal skills
• Customer service
• Business travel planning
• Work experience
How is the course assessed
Assessment will be through a combination of coursework, presentations, online tests and study visit planning.
What can this course lead to
You can go on to study towards the Level 3 Travel and Tourism course if
you have successfully gained Merit and Distinction grades in all units at level 2,
and achieved functional skills English at level 2 and maths level 1 (minimum).
The course has a strong vocational content and could be used to get a job within the travel and tourism industry.
Are there any additional costs
A residential visit and other day trips will take place during the course, you will be advised of the trip costs at interview to pay on enrolment. You will also complete 30 hours of work experience.
