Who is it for
This NCFE CACHE Level 2 course is for you if you are wishing to start your career in health, social care or the voluntary sector, or if you want to study further qualifi cations in health and social care. The course covers health and social care practice and knowledge including topics such as understanding diversity, individual needs and anatomy and physiology.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including English and maths, or relevant level 1 qualifi cation at Merit and GCSE English and maths at grade D/3. You may also be required to have a DBS check for placement.
What is covered
You will study a range of relevant health and social care topics including:
• Communication and individual rights within the health and social care sector
• Individual needs within the health and social care sector
• Anatomy and physiology for health and social care
Work experience for employability skills will take place one day a week throughout the year.
How is the course assessed
The course is assessed by assignments and practical assessments.
What can this course be combined with
You will also have additional support in functional skills and will be able to study maths or English.
What can this course lead to
You could go on to study Health and Social Care Level 3, an apprenticeship or work within the care sector as a healthcare assistant or social support worker, subject to
achieving GCSE grade C/4 in English and maths.
