Who is it for
This level 2 course, once completed, can help you go on to study a level 3 engineering qualifi cation, apply for an apprenticeship or even gain employment.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event, details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
4 GCSEs at grade 3/D or above and must include English and maths. Or Level 1 Engineering and the English and maths you are currently studying.
What is covered
The optional modules are chosen by the College to reflect the needs of local employers. Core modules include:
• Investigating the engineering world
• Interpreting engineering information
• Engineering drawing
• Electrical and electronic systems and devices
• Engineering design
How is the course assessed
Assessment is by a combination of assignments and multiple choice questions which are moderated internally and externally by EAL.
What can this course lead to
You can progress on to a level 3 qualification in engineering or an apprenticeship, providing you have achieved a Merit at this level and GCSE maths at grade C/4. Alternatively you could gain employment at technician level.
Are there any additional costs
You will need to supply your own overalls, safety shoes or boots and a pair of safety glasses.
