Who is it for
This course is for you if you wish to develop basic skills in caring for children or preparing you to work in health and social care.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
You will need an interest in working with children, a willingness to work hard and a minimum of Entry 3 English and maths.
What is covered
On the course you will study the following areas:
• Human growth and development
• Care of children and young adults
• Work experience will take place one day a week throughout the year
• Online learning
How is the course assessed
The course is assessed by continuous coursework through the year.
What can this course lead to
If you have achieved the course and Level 1 Functional Skills in English and maths and are suitable to work in childcare or health and social care then you can study at level 2 in either of these subjects.

You will need to buy art and craft materials when required.
